Description

NCG is one of the leading providers of education, training and employability across the UK. With seven colleges, and around 2300 staff, operations are spread across 6 main locations. It is one of the largest not-for-profit training groups in the UK, working with thousands of learners, employers and apprentices each year whilst collaborating with businesses across the UK to help underpin its journey to success and future growth.

With a new CEO in post, NCG is looking for new Governors to strengthen its Board. Governors play an important role in ensuring the delivery of the organisation’s Mission and Vision (shown below)

Mission – ‘To enable social mobility and economic prosperity through exceptional education.’

Vision – ‘To be the UK’s leading educational group recognised for our local impact, national influence and reach.’

Contributing with their personal and professional knowledge, skills and experience, Governors provide significant strategic oversight to the organisation and its committees. NCG is particularly interested in candidates with a background in corporate services (finance, legal and property), as well as those from a Further and Higher Education educational background.

These are unremunerated roles, but expenses will be paid to cover all costs incurred during the course of Governor’s duties. The estimated time commitment will be c. 1.5 days per month (including time required for review of board papers).
